just a quickie

so much to write but no time. my plans completely changed on sunday night. this term i was going to do CRT (emergency teaching) at Vermont. unfortunately one of the PE teachers was involved in a car accident last friday and has a borken sternum and will be off school for a least four weeks if not the whole term - which is only six weeks. so, i got the call at 9.45pm sunday evening to start work yesterday. it's been a whirlwind 40ish hours as i am back at school with a full teaching load, including year 12's!!! anyway, sent the last week of the holidays down at wilson's prom, beautiful place. but i will try and write more later in the week. have got a lot of homework to do over the next few days to get up to scratch!

long time no blog

sorry for the amount of time since my last blog - i was seeing what it would be like for my father, who only blogs once every blue moon, but i couldn't hold out any longer!

i had a great time up in brisbane with H. the weather was warm which i love. we hung out, went to the movies, the beach, shopping, bbq-d and caught up with his family who are all great. it was a lovely time.

i got home monday and have hung out with various friends during the week - special birthday mention to tamara!

thursday was jayne's hens night. we went to Soulmama on the St Kilda foreshore. even as a meatlover - it was vegetarian - i enjoyed the food and of course the company.

so yesterday was jayne and luke's wedding. it was absolutely lovely. it was in the garden of the place i am currently living and then the reception was in a marquee here as well. the ceremony was beautiful and jayne - and luke - looked absolutely gorgeous as did the rest of the wedding party. everything was perfect - though the weather maybe was a little too perfect as it reached 43 degrees (or 116 farenheit - i think - for you weird people). but we all smiled through the sweat!!! oh and if i manage to get photos on here - check jayne's and the girls hair - i did it!!!

later tonight (we were supposed to go today but due to 40 degree weather today we are putting the drive off a little) i'm heading down to wilson's prom with beth, annie and the boys for the week. should be a great time. after the business of the last few days i am looking forward to doing nothing!!!

last comment - i know it's been a long blog, but it's been a long time. when i got on the plane last week, the weather down below wasn't all that exciting, but when we got above the clouds, it was perfect. it made me think about life. sometimes we get caught in situations that we think are less than perfect. it made me think that during those times, we sometimes can't see through enough to know that things are still ok. but the truth is that they are. they may not be at the time, they may not be for a while, but eventually, they will be good again. eventually something will work out. i think the key is to hold on to hope.

the photos are being naughty, so i will have to try again later to post some more!!! this one will have to do for now.

know it all

i am finding that the older i get the more i seem to learn but the less i seem to know. when does that happen? i mean there was a time when i thought i was pretty smart and knew a lot. and that was only a few years ago. somewhere in there i found out that there's a whole lot more i didn't know about everything.

ok, so right at this very moment i am being hassled for not blogging. i do apologise. i have been busy with the wedding, then i was down in lorne and then i have just been busy doing holidays. reading, swimming, spa-ing, i even managed to go to the gym today - first time in a long time!

i applied for my working holiday visa for canada today. next step is to get my flights sorted out. arrgghhh. scary. exciting.

tomorrow i am off to brisbane to visit H, so i probably won't blog for the next few days either.

the grass really isn't greener

i went down to lorne with sarah on monday. then yesterday i spent the afternoon in the 'duck' (or IRB - inflatable rescue boat). it was FUN. the waves were pretty good and so i got thrown about a bit resulting in some sore muscles today, but it was all worth it. i also have a bruise on my hand which i have been informed looks a little like a hickey. quite funny.

today we went and picked up louise's wedding dress. the rehearsal is tonight and then the wedding is on friday. all is going well so far.

sarah and i had a few good conversations while in lorne - and driving there and back. one thing we discussed was sometimes it's easy to think that everyone is having a better time than you, like having more fun, etc. but really, sarah and i decided that 'they' can't be. living a full life is a decision that you make and i am pretty sure i couldn't add anything else to my life to make it fuller than what it is right now. don't get me wrong i don't necessarily mean fuller as in busy, just full. hopefully you get that.

we also laughed at the fact that everyone, no matter who they are, all have to do regular human things, like go to the toilet, fart, sneeze and at least once in their life, if not a lot more often, would have picked their nose and had diarrhea (not necessarily at the same time). ha ha. (sorry mum for the last paragraph). it's just funny sometimes to think about that.
