vancouver

i came up to vancouver on fri night with daz and fleur (another aussie) and some other guys from 614 (the church daz works with/for). we got to the empress about 1.30am??? the empress is where quite a few of the war college students live. for those who don't know, the empress is a pretty run down old hotel on the corner of main and hastings, the dodgy part of downtown eastside vancouver. it's an experience. i spent saturday helping daz, fleur and rob set up for 614's 3rd birthday celebration. the night was a success with almost 150 people there. 614 meet only in cells groups and don't usually get together for something like this so it was special. the members of the church would make some of the members in my church a little uncomfortable, but God loves them all the same. it was a good night.

daz fleur and i went out for ice cream afterwards.

this morning mum, dad and grandma came up to vancouver and we went and had lunch and a look around stanley park. if melbourne and vancouver are the world's two most liveable cities, it's easy to see why. i won't ever be upset if vancouver beats melbourne, because as much as i LOVE australia, it's great here. the sun is shining, so that helps!

tonight dad is preaching at cariboo hill. so i better go and get changed!

my thought for the day... i am not going to be satisfied living an ordinary life for God...
