my newest favourite scripture

1 John 2:3,4,5,6 (p.s. so easy to memorise)
3 We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. 4 The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: 6 Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.

i came across these verses the other day in my devotions. i can't escape them. they are simple and yet so very powerful. verse 6 is my fav (hence the bold). if we claim to be Christians we must walk as Jesus did.

i get tired of Christians without perseverance. i get tired of Christians without discipline. i get tired of Christians without initiative. i get tired of Christians without commitment. i get tired of Christians without passion. i get sick when i think of Christians without mercy.

Jesus perseveres, Jesus is disciplined, Jesus initiates, Jesus is committed, Jesus is passion, Jesus shows ultimate mercy.

i must walk as he did.
